Quite enjoyed this demo, so I've got hopes that the full game will be good. I do hope they have monsters to run away from, though, because the demo didnt have that yet.
A downloadable game for Windows
Dark Fracture is an indie psychological horror game played in first-person, targeted for full release in 2021.
Over the course of the game, the player is faced with the character’s inner chaos – witnessing the world change around him as the barrier between reality and imagination seems to crumble.
Dark Fracture takes place in the late '90s, set in an isolated forested region in the rural USA. You are put in the shoes of Edward: a body farm employee who is pained by his past, and only finding solace in the medicine that helps him get through the day. Edward is barely able to cope with his personal issues, which are only intensified by him living in solitude. He puts on a brave front and dutifully wakes up for work every day. His routine serves as his only anchor, but deep inside, trouble is simmering...
One night, while working the dreaded midnight shift, a chain of disturbing events draws Edward ever close to losing his grip on reality. As the very fabric of his world seems to unravel and twist. His home of the past few years is being pulled from under his feet. The cruel hand of fate once more nudging him towards disaster. One that threatens to engulf Edward's home in shadow.
Is it merely his mind playing tricks on him? Or perhaps there truly is something darker clawing at his heels, threatening to drag him into the depths? We're counting on you to figure it out: The choices you make will shape the results of his terrifying tale. Trapped between a world of horrors inspired by the works of ones such as H.R. Giger, and the unkind reality of the body farm from whence he came. Survive a twofold nightmare in Dark Fracture!
- Photo-Realistic Graphics: Explore the body farm's rich and immersive environment, and a terrifying parallel world inspired by the likes of H.R. Giger and Beksinski.
- Inventory System: Search for key game items to help your progress, pick them up and use them from your inventory.
- Physical Items: In-game objects that can be picked up and carried around the world to help in solving puzzles.
- Sanity Meter: Your sanity is the key to survival. Paranormal events will hinder your progress throughout the game, keep yourself sane and away from losing your mind!
- Limited Light Sources: You will find limited light sources to navigate the environment, your light sources could potentially run out so use them wisely.
- Dual Wielding: Holding and using two items at once allows you to strategize the complimentary usage of the tools in order to solve a situational problem.
- Procedurally Generated Events: Varying sequences of irregular paranormal events, in addition to randomly located pick-up items that appear in different spots at each game level restart.
- Decision Making: The decisions you make in the game will impact your storyline and outcome. Are you going to follow the system or rebel against it? Choose wisely!
WARNING: This game contains strong language and gruesome content that some players may find disturbing.
Certain scenes may potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy.

I loved this game I really recommend it! I already want to play it full soon!
Many thanks to the creators for this game <3
I really enjoyed this game, the jumpscares really got me. I loved the feel and look of the game it had me on edge. Here's my playthrough give it a watch let me know what you think:enjoy
Great work! Loved the dark atmosphere. Waiting for the full release!
Great game! I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much. Here's my gameplay, if anybody's interested:
This game is literally so good that it is my most viewed video on my channel, like wow
We had a grrrrreat time!!!!
I can't wait for the full game!!!
Wow what a game, I cannot wait for the full release.
Prob one of the best horror games I have played this year 10/10
Thank you for the support, we're really glad you enjoyed the game so much! :)
The game is well made and i had fun playing it.
This game is great! It was really fun and I got some nice scares. The game freezes at times, not sure if it's the game's or my computer's fault while recording. Anyway, the environments, the sound and game design are all looking great. I'm excited for the full release!
Please check out the video and my channel: VladMan.
Thank you so much for playing our prologue and uploading this cool let's play! We appreciate the feedback!
Any chance you can post or send us your system specs so we can check into the lag? It will really help us to navigate if the issue is relating to the hardware or the game itself.
Have a great week!
I have an Intel i5-4460, Nvidia GT 1030, 8GB RAM. The game runs at 60fps on medium settings.
Thank you for the information!
The minimum GPU system spec for using the game is GTX 560, we had to compare and sharing our findings: benchmark comparison between GT 1030 and GTX 560, you can see GTX 560 is performing a bit better, so we're pretty pleased to know you can run 60fps on medium settings on lower requirements than our minimum for GPU, especially since that the minimum requirement aren't meant to provide 60fps at Ultra/High.
We plan on optimizing the prologue better and this info was very helpful. :)
I got a chance to play the game through steam! The game is shaping up to be great in my opinion! I kept accidentally putting away key items, which had me worried haha! Great work so far ya'll! Made a vid.
Really good demo! I really liked the environment and the use of the lighter and camera. Its a small nitpick but it may help feel more natural if the lighter and camera buttons were switched since they appear on opposite sides of the screen. Also, when looking for the dead bodies in the freezer section maybe a little green light to show us which is occupied?(Opening all of them is not that fun since you can't between them) The camera flash is a bit too fast, if you could make it slower or at least have the flash fade a bit slower for us to be able to see what is in front of us. Lastly, the beginning part is a bit slow. If you could add some small jump-scares/hallucinations that would hook people to keep watching/playing a bit more. I had fun playing it and I hope to see the full release in the future!
Hi Berry, thank you for playing! We appreciate the valuable feedback and glad you had fun!
We didn't think about switching 1/2 keys, that's indeed more appropriate key bindings (although you can self-bind them in the settings menu), we will consider this into upcoming updates.
Regarding the freezers, we don't expect players to open each and every one of them, the journal notes tell you exactly which one should be occupied, we did an awful job of explaining the importance of reading through the journal notes, and it's already fixed and will be better explained in the upcoming update 3 days away.
We took notes of the rest of your feedback, thank you for taking the time to play. :)
I recently came across this game and it looked promissing, so I had to try it!
Dark Fracture offers a mix of puzzles, an insanity meter and limited resources to help you through the nightmare!
For a demo, the game already has quite a lot to offer; great atmosphere, interesting concept and mechanics, nice voice acting...
The only issue in my opinion, is how dark the game is. Even with increased brightness, sometimes it is very hard to navigate (as your light sources have limits to them), which was a bit annoying and frustrating..
Other than that, definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of horror games!
I also played the game for my channel, feel free to have a look!
Thank you for playing and the valuable feedback, glad you enjoyed the game. We already took note of the darkness in the game and made it easier to handle through several aspects, new update will be available in matter of days :)
Honestly loved it. The only thing I'd consider changing is the blood trail, because it seems to lead to every room in the complex, but that's not a huge deal. Good luck with the final project!
Thank for playing! Glad you enjoyed it.
We noted the trails matter and it will be adjusted in the coming update a week or two away.
This is, by far, the best AAA horror game I have seen to date!!! It surpasses Resident Evil by far and is definitely a must-play for anyone who loves the horror genre and loves a well-polished game!! 10/10
It’s been awhile since I’ve played a game as scary as Dark Fracture. There is a subtlety as you’re introduced to the main character and story; things feel “off”, but you can’t put your finger on it.
But as that tension builds, events occur, not only more frequently, but are much more intense and in-your-face. Visually stunning, my favorite parts of the experience required me to rely on very little light and, worse yet, actually become tentative to use my light sources at all, simply because I wasn’t so sure if I actually wanted to see what was in front of me.
I can’t wait to see how the finished product turns out!
Just played through the demo the other day and was really impressed! Looking forward to the full release of the game!
Epic game and amazing developer, always helpful and friendly to talk to ;D
Really scary and tense! Been waiting for a while to play, even just a demo! Not disappointed and can't wait to play the full game!
Gave it a go...
Thank you for playing, we think you played the earlier playtesters version rather than the newer demo we just released, there's plenty of updates that weren't displayed in your video, and most of the bugs you spoke about already got fixed, regardless, glad you had fun!
Really great game, loved it full and the experience was great. Can't wait to play this and do a series. Keep it up and I hope my video helps more people see your game
Your demo for Dark Fracture was good. I really liked the environment and the responsive movement that immersed me. My gripe is how long it takes to push continue after picking up an item and my problem is how game breaking the bugs are. I had to restart around 5 times because an unmovable object would block a door or a different item wouldn't move. Other than that it was great.
Thank you for playing, great video. We took note of all your feedback and will improve based on it. Do you mind giving us more info regarding which objects you had the issues with so we can fix it? Was it always the trolleys blocking the way?
The trolleys are scripted at certain points to move, but If I'm in their path they get pushed to the door and get stuck there. The second trolley in the freezer room was stuck the first time around. The valve got frozen on the wall and the little menu to turn the valve was stuck on the screen. Those are the game breaking bugs I experienced.
Thank you for the info!
We will fix the trolleys issue in our next update, sorry for the inconvenience that caused while you played.
The second trolley issue in the freezers room wasn't actually a bug, you entered, didn't use a lighter and due to the darkness accidentally tried to force open the freezers several times, which lead the story into you deciding not to care to carry the trolleys out of the room, and that task has ended due to it, regardless, that shouldn't happen and we will make it easier for players to find the light switch and not hit the freezers when they enter the room.
We didn't find any case of the valve getting stuck in your video (or maybe just missed it, will look again), we assume you edited it out of the video, but we will investigate into the issue.
Amazing work this game scared the shit outta me can't wait to play the full game.
Thank you for playing! Really enjoyed watching it!
Great! Very creepy!
Honestly for an indie game I really enjoyed it.
> It was actually scary. The suspense led you up to a legit jumpscare. Not some png image flying into your face like mos indie games
> It's graphics and textures went above and beyond.
> The motion blur when you turn makes the game more immerssive and requires you to turn slower for you can observe your surroundings during suspensful moments
> Why is A15 upside down you troll XDDD
Cant wait to sign up for next months patreon :))
This game is incredible wow :))
This is gorgeous! I’m hyped to see the full game
Knew this demo would be good and i was right :) very nice i can't wait to see the full game:
